Join us for an evening at the Ehmann Home known as “the house that olives built”.Tours are available at 3, 6, & 8 pm starting at the Municipal Auditorium (Oroville Convention Center)
Known as “the house that olives built,” the Ehmann Home is a museum that showcases the history and influence of Freda Ehmann, the “Mother of the Ripe Olive Industry.” Ehmann and her son, Edwin, built the Colonial Revival Craftsman home in 1911 after she perfected a curing process for ripe olives and was able to open markets across the country.You’ll take a brief walk where tour guide Daniel will be sharing about the block parties of the past, the Old Library. Then you’ll get an in-depth inside tour of the Ehmann Home where you’ll learn about the history of the Ehmann Family, the ripe olive, and this unique craftsman home.Tours are free, though we encourage you to tip your tour guide!For more information about the Eman Home:Photos
