Last year the Downtown Oroville board members decided it was just too dark for customers to enjoy walking downtown after dark. Again, we asked if the SBF fund would help us champion this project and bring some light to downtown Oroville!
They said yes and we have added over 5,000 feet of LED outdoor string lights to light up downtown. This has made our streets safer for the community, businesses, and tourists. It has also added an elevated level of charm that we want to continue.
Each business was given as many boxes as needed to outline their building. We are also providing assistance to those who cannot hang the lights themselves.
This is an ongoing project.
