To say it’s been a difficult few years for our community would be an understatement. Yet, I am still encouraged and inspired by caring community members and business owners of Downtown Oroville.
As restrictions continue to be lifted and our favorite customers return, it’s important to take a moment and reflect on what we’re all grateful for.
Personally, I’m grateful for the Downtown Oroville businesses and board members that have navigated changes which felt like insurmountable setbacks. We all expected to be further along in the developments downtown. We had hoped to be in a place financially where Downtown could hire someone full-time to help share the workload of implementing improvements and advocating for each of your businesses. Although the progress of hiring someone full-time was delayed, our board is continuing to volunteer to meet the needs as best we can. Thank you all for being patient, being flexible, and being resilient. You guys are amazing.
I am looking forward to seeing our Downtown grow and each of your businesses thrive. We know that sometimes as an organization, we get caught up in the doing and forget to take a moment to keep you guys informed. We’re creating these newsletters to help keep everyone in the loop on what’s happening and what’s being worked on. We want you to know we’re here for you, we’re open to your suggestions and ideas, and we’re excited about what is and will be done for our Downtown.
Thank you! Robin
